PRIVATE COACHING WITH WAYNE MYLIN

Find your footing
in a life
changed by cancer.

Cancer can change your energy, relationships, identity, priorities, plans, and sense of what comes next.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before seeking support. We begin where you are.

A private, supportive place to make sense of

what is happening, clarify what matters most,

and find realistic ways forward.

30 minutes · Virtual · No pressure to enroll

Cancer changes the landscape of life.

BEYOND THE TREATMENT ROOM

Medical care focuses appropriately on treating and monitoring disease. Coaching supports the person living through the experience.

You may be trying to live with uncertainty, rebuild your wellbeing, adjust to changes in identity or relationships, care for someone without losing sight of yourself, or continue supporting others while carrying the demands of oncology work.

WHO I COACH

Support shaped around your place
on the trail.

People living with cancer

Support during active treatment, ongoing or chronic cancer, recovery, and the transition into life after treatment.

Care partners

Attention to your own capacity, needs, decisions, boundaries, and wellbeing while supporting someone you care about.

Cancer Survivors

A place to rebuild wellbeing, navigate uncertainty, and discover what living beyond cancer means for you.

Oncology professionals

Confidential support for navigating the human demands of oncology work and developing sustainable ways of caring.

THE LIFE NAVIGATION APPROACH

Orientation comes before action.

When the landscape changes, the first task is not necessarily to set bigger goals or try harder.

It is to understand where you are, what conditions you are navigating, and what is genuinely possible right now.

Orient

Notice what is happening and what is asking for your attention.

Clarify

Identify what matters most and understand your present capacity.

Choose

Find a manageable next step that fits your real circumstances.

Adapt

Adjust with steadiness as your needs and conditions change.

“The goal is not to perform your way through a difficult experience by doing what you think is expected of you.

It is to intentionally participate in your life
with greater awareness, agency, and self-trust.”

MEET YOUR COACH

Wayne Mylin

Wayne Mylin

Cancer health, wellness, and life navigation coach.

Founder of The Second Trail.

My work draws on 45+ years of one-to-one patient care, including more than 20 years in oncology supportive care. I bring together oncology experience, health and wellness coaching, positive psychology, mindfulness, and a whole-person understanding of change.

CLEAR AND COMPLEMENTARY SUPPORT

Coaching
supports life alongside cancer.

Coaching is nonclinical and complements - but does not replace - oncology care or mental health treatment. It does not diagnose or treat illness, interpret medical results, provide medical advice, or direct treatment decisions.

When a need falls outside the scope of coaching, I will encourage you to seek the appropriate professional support.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before you begin.

Do I need to be finished with treatment?

No. Coaching can be useful during active treatment, after treatment, or while living with ongoing or chronic cancer. We will consider your current capacity and whether this is an appropriate time.

How are sessions held?

Sessions are held virtually through Healthie, a secure, HIPAA-compliant coaching platform accessible by computer, phone, or tablet.

What if I’m not sure which option I need?

You do not need to decide before speaking with me. We can discuss what you are navigating and determine what level of support—if any—appears most appropriate.

Is The Second Trail a substitute for coaching?

The two complement one another. The Second Trail offers ongoing community, guided experiences, and flexible resources. Coaching provides private, personalized attention focused on your situation.

A PLACE TO BEGIN
